Our purpose is to provide extra, one on one, reinforced instruction some children need in a school setting. Learning Facilitators can assist a child with many necessary skills: fine and gross motor, turn taking, topic appropriateness, topic maintenance, topic closure, transitions, staying on task, and interacting with the group. Unique Link helps children improve eye contact, vocal volume, and improve a child's attention level while assisting the child with writing, reading and math skills. Learning Facilitators can help improve these skills and others in a classroom situation.
Having a Learning Facilitator provides the teacher assistance during class time, freeing up more time to help others. Along with the extra help with basic classroom skills, a Learning Facilitator strives to increase creativity, self regulation, confidence, and academic and socialization skills, while teaching individualism. Social interaction is vital to a child's success. A Learning Facilitator can help establish relationships among the child's peers and adults. We can help to provide motivating situations to increase interaction. A facilitator could start an exciting game and encourage participation with several children. Building confidence and motivating the children can make a great difference in the child's school experiences.
If your child has transition problems, we can simply make things such as picture boards or a small picture album to prompt the child what comes next in the day. Many schools have specials in the day such as library, music, circle time or chapel. Verbally and visually prompting the child for the next activity can decrease or eliminate transition or anxiety problems. Recess can be a sensory enriching and confidence building activity by encouraging physical and social challenges the child wouldn't usually try on his or her own.
There are many creative ideas to help your child in a school setting. Unique Link has experience in working with children and teachers in these settings. If your child needs the extra help, contact us. We would love to help.
